EPISODE 052 - PRIORITIES

Pre-empted Show: You Can't Do That On Television

Ross says the program is cancelled because of the ballgame he has tickets to. It's a matter of priorities; he can spend the day with these "clowns" (the cast), or he can enjoy the day at the ballgame. However, the producer of the show had a talk with him, and the show's back on the air.

Now that Ross has stay in the studio, he tries to watch the game on television while the others are trying to do the show. Once again, Christine gets on Ross for rolling the closing credits right in the middle of the show while doing her link; and Ross is back to wanting to get to the ballgame ... until the very end when he puts money-making at the top of his priority list.

Christine and Lisa get their own priorities straight by leaving this "stupid show" and going out into the big world to enjoy it.

Production: Bottom Of The Heap

DID YOU NOTICE?

  • Studio masters and home video recordings are both in existence.
  • YCDTOTV's final day of airing on Nickelodeon was on January 23, 1994, and Priorities was chosen to be played for the last time. Notice the plot is about the show being cancelled, and the very last sketch to be seen, on regular schedule, was Christine and Lisa setting their priorities to 'leave' the show to enjoy the world.
  • When Nickelodeon premiered the 1983 season, it only aired 10 of the 13 episodes before it cycled back to the beginning of the 1981 season. At the beginning of 1984, 3 additional episodes suddenly premiered without warning - Manners, Fame and Priorities.

CLASSIC QUOTES

(An opposite skit ... obviously!)
Valerie: Stop complaining! If I ever catch you in the library again instead of being in this beautiful arcade playing video games, you're going to be in big trouble, young man! Now you take that quarter and put it in that slot! Now take the handle. That's right! That's it, Dougie! Go, go!
