- The
producer hands Ross three pies to "give"
to Chris, Nick and Ted. Ross presumes he meant to
splat the pies in their faces (it later turns out
the pies were poisioned and the producer meant for
the boys to eat them). After Ross pies the boys,
a very deep voice is heard and immediately the shot
widens and R. Sole is seen sitting in his chair
off the link set. R. Sole, the producer character,
was only seen in two other episodes: the WTYO pilot
and 1981's Safety
First . Though throughout the
series, this was "the producer" to which
many references were made. R. Sole was a parody
of Roger Price, "Roger Sole." When "R.
Sole" is said verbally, it becomes the British
"arsehole". Roger Price, of course, was
from Britain hence this play on a name.
