- Again,
much of YCDTOTV was based on reality or inside jokes.
Roger and/or Adam must have had a slight vendetta
with Amyas. First of all, Amyas was the rightful
host of 1989, yet he was overlooked for Chris Bickford.
It was a time-honored tradition through YCDTOTV
that the longest standing cast member was given
the host position when it became vacant and needed
to be filled. In this episode, it is Amyas who didn't
make it to the shower in time, thus the green slime
fungus formed in his hair. In Smoking,
it was Amyas who was to do the intro in Chris' absence,
yet became choked on prop smoke thus requiring Carlos
to run in and say "Hi and welcome to You
Can't Do That On Television."
In Embarrassment, it again
was Amyas who missed his chance to do the intro
when Ross let Amy cut him off.
