Does anyone else remember this cartoon? It was a long serial cartoon that would run for about 6 months on Nickelodeon in the mid to late 80's. About 3 kids who were searching for a lost city of gold set around the time of the conquistidors. I never was quite able to see the entire story. I would always miss about 1/3 of it and ALWAYS would be the same parts that i would miss.

MCoG
One of the very first Japanese-animated series I ever saw! I blame Nickelodeon for getting me started on the road to becoming the anime fan I am today, and MCoG was part of that. This was probably the best-animated and the most sophisticated in terms of subject matter of all the anime Nickelodeon showed back in the day. Beautiful animation (the show was made in 1982 but looks as good as if not better than stuff from the '90s - and later), great music, and an engrossing story... what more could you ask for from a cartoon? Maybe a better English-language theme song, but what the heck.
For those who have seen Urusei Yatsura, Yu Yu Hakusho, or Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, this series was made by the same animation company (Studio Pierrot).

In Quebec, Canada and in France it was known in French as "Les mystérieuses cités d'or". There a French site at http://www.lescitesdor.com/ who mentions a new series for 2011 but I don't know if an English version will be available

There was also a movie. The road to EL-Dorado. Remember that? Even that had 3 people in it...
