"Tightrope," from the album "A New World Record."
Eh, coming up with one idea, them making only minor efforts to repackage the idea for somebody else.. still pretty shameless.
Wow, thanks internet... I knew you'd come through eventually.
A truly shameless "You Can't" copy, but definitely an interesting watch.
Sigh... Back when Nick at Nite actually catered to a niche market, as opposed to just running the same batch of recent, syndicated shows you could already find running four times a day on TBS, WGN,...
Before one of the more recent site revisions, there had been a section dedicated to YCDTOTV scripts, fan-written and otherwise... I remember a few very capably-written entries, such as the "Vanity"...
It's just a shame that one of the more meticulous live-action efforts to re-create the YCDTOTV look and feel had to be for such a fleeting purpose...
I was sort of shocked when I heard that Marjorie was in Project 131 and that it didn't happen then... That would've been like Charlie Brown coming back one last time and finally being able to kick...
Do you mean to say that there were slime scenes actually written for her in the later years that she managed to put the kibosh on? I had long assumed that it was part of Christine's agreement to keep...
I remember trading with you.. "I ship Priority Mail and ask that you do the same." Haha.. It's surprisingly difficult now to imagine a time where most of the episodes weren't so widely available....
I saved this back when these shirts first began showing up... You can see a slightly more official-looking logo inside the collar of this one.
I believe it was a Hot Topic item. Of course,...
Maybe Chris was trying to be ironic? Although posting a reply in the wrong thread would in reality just have been a matter of bad luck..
Excellent.. Now let's debate the ethics of hoarding and/or selling the 1979 episodes on eBay.
Disney has been doing something similar with fairy tales and children's books for years... It can be frustrating, but I suppose that's just the nature of the law sometimes.
I was with it right up until Noel Edmonds started lip-syncing to the synthesized background track... But I always have been rather fond of the early 1980s' propensity towards neon and laser beams and...
Wow... That... is possibly the greatest introduction sequence of all time.
Sadly, I really can't say the same about Fred's hairstyle.
Coming up on 27, so I've still got a little bit of youth left. :P
It looks as though he's been downing quite a few of those Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers in the time since...
Heh, I checked the mail as soon as I could this afternoon, but nothing yet. I'm sure it'll arrive tomorrow, though.. I've really been looking forward to seeing the finished product.
The switch to HD-DVD/Blu-Ray is intended to be a gradual and universal format change.. When or how a movie or TV show was filmed is irrelevant.
However, I don't believe that has anything to do...
Great work, Ric.. Tough to believe it's been six years since HTGOL.
If we see YCDTOTV on DVD, distributed in the US, it's going to happen at the hands of Nickelodeon. That's all there is to it. As Bob said, Nickelodeon possesses both the incentive and financial power...
Good to hear... I've been looking forward to knowing this project's status for a while now, and I'm psyched about seeing the finished product.
I'm sure it'll be great, Ric... Thanks for keeping at...
I agree with using lesser-known or first-time kid actors, although I'm not sure I'd have them "playing" original cast members. Pretty much every kid in YC's history was playing themselves.. Take away...
Too bad it did fall through, you mean. If it never fell through, it would've been made.
It's going to be the '81 episode, by the way, according to VH1's descriptions.
