How's this for a rare piece? Our good YouTube friend greenwater735 has just posted a five-minute interview segment of what goes on behind the scenes of Whatever Turns You On.
Not sure if the...
I thought Lisa was picked on because of her weight.
I hate to revive this thread, but all of you should see this flyer:
http://www.brentcomrealty.com/flyers/1500Merivale.pdf
It shows plans for the redevelopment of the land which, until two...
I did some checking on the movie in question in the clip. My Dinner With Andre was released in October of 1981, so this clip would had to have been either in late October or early November of 1981.
It's given that title because that's the day it was aired, on March 17, 1979. The episode really doesn't feature anything related to St. Patrick's Day... unless you count the slime!
I just saw this picture on CTV Ottawa's Twitter feed.
The building at 1500 Merivale Road, which housed such great shows such as YCDTOTV, has now been reduced to this:
...
Yeah. It was (and still is) a great show. And BTW, that clip was from a top ten list of British sci-fi shows. It would have focussed on just that alone.
Everybody was taking some playful jabs at...
Wow. Not much left of the old station now.
Pretty much the only places left to remind people that CJOH was there is the Bear radio station and the Dairy Queen across the street.
Yeah. They were in another part of the building, even when the fire occurred. I think Soundman has them as well, if memory serves.
I wonder if any of the YCDTOTV/WTYO cast know about this and what their feelings are regarding this. I'm sure everyone here would be curious to find out.
Hey, there are other options out there. YouTube's not the only game in town anymore. The guy could easily find them and upload the episodes at that alternate option if he so chose to, whatever it...
Sad to see the studios where some great television shows were made is now coming down. Any idea when the demolition began?
From the pictures (thanx for them, BTW), it looks as if the demolition...
It's just Viacom being a bunch of bullies. They wouldn't know good entertainment anymore, even if it came up to them and bit them in the butt.
Oddly enough, one of the guy's WTYO vids were removed. The Repeats episode, I believe, plus the pilot.
Not sure if anyone has seen this yet, but a user with the handle of greenwater735 has put up full episodes of YCDTOTV (from 1981 on) and WTYO on YouTube.
Even both versions of the Worst of YCDTOTV...
And did you also notice during the musical numbers that only one of the three musicians was wearing shoes?
Yeah, I saw it. It's available for download somewhere (Barth's Burgery might be a good place to start). I think you're right that it was supposed to be a Nick pilot, but it aired instead on TVO in...
Actually, Josh, your Twitter handle changed. I tried adding it to my follow list and it said Not Found. I managed to find it doing a search, though, so it's OK.
Damn, you ask a helluva lot of questions, man.
Personally, I think YCDTOTV's best year, and probably its peak year, was 1984. That year, Nickelodeon put a huge infusion of money in the show and as...
In reruns, absolutely! I think YTV should have kept YCDTOTV (as well as WTYO, as they showed episodes of that as well) on beyond 1996. I don't think you'll get any argument from anyone here about...
For the most part. Some of the skits that we saw in the 1987 tape were cut from the final 1989 tape (shouldn't have been, but there it is). It's why most of us would think that the Worst of YCDTOTV...
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better! The 1989 kids looked like they were out of place. It must have felt forced and uncomfortable for them.
Actually, the whole tape is on YouTube, and ya, the guy who uploaded it could've done a better job with it. Nonetheless, it's good to finally be able to see it.
If I recall correctly, Robert Black (BBovenguy) said that they were taped sometime in 1986. When in 1986, exactly, is unknown, although you might be correct about that "late in" part.
