Thread: specific examples of scenes..

    Default specific examples of scenes..

I was wondering if anyone could suggest any particular scenes where Christine is talking about how she is always the one who gets green slimed or how she hates green slime?-(instead of the slime coming out of no where as a from left field surprise.)
I fondly remember a lot of these scenes with her discussing the slime (and how horrible it was) from when I was a kid but I don't know where to look for them on the compilation videos.(of course I remember the multicolored one.)

Most of the links in the "Sexual Equality" episode (1981) were sort of written around that theme. They focused on Moose trying to give the other kids (with whom she had traded roles for the duration of the show) a taste of what she endured as host, including waterings, pieings, and green slime. Moose's attempts to get Brodie slimed both end in disaster with Moose getting slimed herself... but she finally gives Brodie what he deserves at the end of the show.

Also, in the "Ambitions" episode (1984), Christine tells Lisa about how her ambition is to get through just one show without getting slimed or watered. Of course she says the "W" word which gets her drenched. When Lisa asks her how she could do something so stupid, Christine replies, "Well, I don't know..." and gets slimed. Moose then makes a comment about how sneaky the producers are getting with the slime and water bits (as she often did throughout the '82-'84 seasons), and repeats the "W" word which causes her to get drenched again. So much for that ambition.

Moose's slime scene from "Movies" (1985) also kind of fits, I guess. During her screen test she notices that the magic words are printed in her script, and tries to get Panzarotti to change the line. He refuses, and insists that she read the line as written. Moose, resigned to the fact that she isn't going to win this one, reads the line as written and, of course, is slimed.
Now that I think about it, I wonder if this sketch was sort of a reflection of what was happening behind the scenes, since it has been said many times here that Moose was given the option of getting out of being slimed during the '85 season because of her seniority. I wonder if perhaps this time her appeal was unsuccessful and Price or someone else insisted she be slimed after all? Robert Black, if you read this, can you shed some light?

In Nutrition, when Moose read the cue card marked "Yogurt" she didnt want to talk about yogurt fearing yogurt would fall on top of her like eggs and milk did. Instead she was smacked with a yogurt pie.

She also got away by saying she wouldnt read the cue card containing "porridge" so she let Lisa do the skit hence lisa being drenched by porridge.

The whole point of the episode was that Panzarotti slimed everyone. Of course that included Christine, and she knew it. However, shd did get the sketch changed. Originally, she was supposed to get slimed twice in a row, and she changed it so that she got slimed and then watered instead.

Actually Christine was the only one who had to say I don't know. Everyone else said it by accident in Movies.

It was meant to be implied that the lines both Adam and Eugene were given had "I don't know" in them. The song Eugene is supposed to sing, for example, is a real song:

I'm an old cowhand from the Rio Grande
But my legs ain't bowed and my cheeks ain't tanned
I'm the cowboy who never saw a cow
Never roped a steer 'cause I don't know how
I sure ain't fixin' to start in now

Panzarotti also asks Lisa specifically whether she'll say "I don't know," which is how he ends up getting slimed. Alasdair was supposed to be the only one who didn't have the line, which was done basically as a reversal-of-expectations gag.

Moose: I got slimed. Adam got slimed. Eugene got slimed. How come you didnt get slimed??

    Alasdair: I don't know.

    Loved that one.

There were many jokes on the set about the number of teeny-bopper girls who would be passing out when they saw Alasdair drop his robe.
