Thread: latter day scene

    Default latter day scene

I saw a latter day slime scene on youtube in a slime compilation video-I don't know what episode or year its from but it has the Jennifer girl and a boy with red hair-(I don't know all the names of the post Moose era kids) and he says something like "I thought they were gonna dump so much slime on me I'd drown it it!"-then he gets slimed and she laughs at him-of course she eventuallty gets slimed too-
-I have to say their acting in the scene was very good-the boy looks really grossed out by the slime and the look on jeniffers face is almost as good as a classic Christine reaction. Just the shock and horror at what is happening to her was great. I think it's their mouths-for some reason thats what made Christine slimings so effective-the mouth acting she would do. And they both do that in the scene. -u really get the feeling its an unpleasent experience for them.
Tho I've never seen the episode-why does the kid think they were going to drown him in slime?

The red-haired boy is Christian Tessier. You definitely caught two of the leading lights of the 1989-90 cast, along with Chris Bickford and Sariya Sharp, in my opinion. I think the scene's from Excess but I haven't checked so if someone knows better... What happened was that he said "I don't know" and didn't get slimed, because it was the introduction to the opposites, so he was expressing (prematurely, of course) his relief at not having been slimed.

so then why does the girl say "it always remembers, I don't know why but it always.."before getting slimed? If he said I don't know in an opposite sketch why would it have to remember to slime him? I thought that was when you didn't get slimed.
Anyway she ,akes a great face.

Christian said I dont know before the opposite sketch but never got slimed so he had to "pay for it" when the opposites ended but Jen just said I dont know as a normal thing.

Jennifer and Christian were often paired up as the "New Vanessa" and "New Doug", (Said largely about Jen, not so much about Christian. Incidently, Chris Bickford is the "New Alisdair")and they played well off each other and came acreoss very funny.

The 89's are often overlooked because of the unfamiliar cast, and the "took it uo to 11" on the slime gags. But, in my opinion, some of the funniest episodes were made in this era. The VERY strict adherance to the sliming rules added to that for me. For instance, if someone said "I don't know" accidently during filming as a flub or something, they'd redo the take, have the actor say it again, and slime him at that point.

what were "the slime rules" - how many slimings were they supposed to have per episode?
I think Jill Stanley should have stayed on the show and become the new moose. From waht I've seen of her she seems like she was pretty good at taking punishment and facing the messy consequences in a way where she seemed generally miserable as a result of her fates.
-and if chris was the new alisdair does that mean he did the dungeon scenes? or did dungeon scenes get reduced after alisdair left?

ris was in a few dungeon scenes, I'm sure. None come to mind though.

The "Sliming Rules" are simple. When you say I Don't Know, green slime falls on you. In earlier seasons, sometimes it would slip by, especially when Abby would say it. This is never the case in the 89's. Even when said as a flkub, they'd redo the scene, and slime the kid after they said it.

I loved seeing Jill getting slimed the most out of the girls in the 89-90 season.
