    Default Best actual joke?

Anyone have an example of their favorite actual joke on YCDTOTV? Not a funny sketch, but an actual punchline-including joke.

    One of mine is:

VALERIE PREVERT: "What are all those playing cards doing in the toilet?"

MATTHEW GODFREY: "Mom, haven't you ever heard of a ROYAL FLUSH?!"

    Funny.

The recurring joke in the "Safety First" episode from '81 that had to do with "wearing white at night." Christine is showered with whitewash after cautioning the writers not to do anything silly with that theme, because it "just won't wash." And Kevin gets hit with white slime in a classroom skit and then pied by Moose on the link set - because the cream in the pie is, of course, white.

Moose: (to Kevin) Have you got something white to wear at night?
Kevin: (looking down at his clothes) No...
Moose: You have now! (pies Kevin)

Was just watching the "Nature" episode from '83 on YouTube and found another good one... Lisa trying to comfort and console her sleeping bag because it's a "down" sleeping bag.

I tended to use "joke" jokes with punchlines during the Locker Jokes, and a couple that I'm still fond of were ones I had to come up with on short notice after the original scripts bombed in read-through. In "Relatives," I had Alasdair make fun of Adam K.'s height by saying, "I've heard of family trees before, but not trees in the family. And then in "Romance & Dating," when Doug got mad at Vanessa for making fun of his height, she said, "What are you going to do, punch me in the kneecap?"

Robert, were you the one who came up with the "speckled trout" thing in regard to Alasdair's freckles?

I used it, but I didn't originate it. I forget who did. It kind of sounds like a Josh Morris thing.
