As Geoff Darby explained at Slimecon02, those interviews were a leftover element of the local show. When the show was local, the kids would announce where the people in the audience could go to be interviewed (a mall, a local event, etc), so that they could feel like it was "their" show. They tried to do this on a national basis in 1982-83, but it wasn't the same because though you, in the audience, could technically go to the places where Christine interviewed the kids, you probably would not have the means to get there just for the sake of being interviewed. Since it was no longer on a local basis, and since she only interviewed kids in certain cities, it did not have the same effect that it had when the show was local. So starting in 1984, they stopped doing it.
"Without a song or dance, what are we? So I say 'Thank you for the music', for giving it to me...."
Did they do one interview session per show, or would they use several interviews from one trip for several shows? I've not watched them closely, but sometimes I get the feeling that the same kids show up on different shows.
You'd see the same kids in various blocks of shows. Moose would probably have a list of topics for that particular visit. I know that Cosmetics, Vacations and Fads & Fashions had the same kids from the NY area, and I would LOVE to find out what happened to the two gals who Moose talked to in the shopping mall. Those two always cracked me up with their thick NY accents. "Sunshiny guys" is forever in my vocabulary LOLOriginally Posted by MooseFan

to this day i never liked the kid interviews, or there silly jokes. i always felt that it took time away from any cut sketches. leave the lame jokes to the locker sketches.
where are the interviews located?
Can green slime be a different color?
Jakepeter11,
These are interviews of local kids. I have these on my first disc. You can come down and watch one. I'm almost done with my last few seasons. Then, i will have to start all over again.--I watch my old shows collections over & over & over & over & over. YCDTOTV is my favorite. But, I have watched The Voyagers 4 times through. Of course, it was only on for 1 season. The guy that played Phineas Bogg accidently shot himself while on the set of Cover Up.
oh, ok.![]()

I always thought it was "sunshine AND guys". Kind of a takeoff on blue skies, barthy burgers, girls... though probably not intentional!
Lisa: "Dad, my friends at school say you have no savoir faire"
Senator Prevert: "Subway fare?? Why would I need subway fare?? There are no subways in this city!"
The 'Fads/Fashions' interviews I remember most because of those two Long Island girls too! It was a whole string of people who didn't look in the least bit fashionable, lol. One girl even commented on Nikes, pronouncing it "Nykes." And then the last guy interviewed reminded me of my science teacher-- "I like girls in designer jeans because it keeps me occ-u-pied."
Runner-up for most memorable kid interview was the girl in 'Ripoffs' who yanks the microphone away from Christine to complain how adults rip off kids. Bet she's a prosecutor now! o.o
