    Default Anyone willing to part with SC 2004 DVD??

    Ok...so maybe this should be in the trading category, but I'm not looking for any of the actual episodes, so here goes:

    I purchased both the SC '02 and '04 DVD's off Josh Yawn's website back in January. '02 was perfect, '04 had main program encoding issues. When I wrote to Josh, and finally got a response he sent out a new '04 disc for me, with worse problems than the first one. Only the menu and one trailer plays. The first one could at least play all the special features. I contacted him about this back in late February, and again last month...and as we come close to May, I have yet to hear back from him. I realize this is a volunteer effort, and he doesn't even have to take the time to do this for us as fans....but at the same time I also feel like I'm still out $10 on something that hasn't worked since I first payed for it in early January....and there are other things I could have had more fun wasting that money on....LOL.

    Which leads me to my question: Does anyone have a FULLY FUNCTIONAL SC '04 DVD that they no longer are watching and are willing to part with it?? I can throw in a few bucks for the effort, or would be willing to make other accomodations depending on what that person would want instead.

    I'm just tired of the runaround...and I seriously doubt I'll see that ten bucks come back to me as a refund. I know Josh is a busy guy, but if he had thrown either of the 2 non-functional DVD's I have now into a player to make sure they encoded correctly prior to sending them (a 3-min issue resoulution, tops), I wouldn't be posting this now.

    Hope someone can help!!

    i think we both ordered around the same time and both had the same problems with the original discs we received.. but i hafto say josh sent a replacement that did play all features just fine.. i don't really want to part with my copy, but i just wanted to chime in since josh did resolve the problem for me.. one thing i would suggest is you might try the disc in a different player.. i noticed that the discs didn't play in some of my dvd players, so to josh's credit, he may have checked the discs in his player, and they're just not playing on yours..

    I checked both discs in 3 seperate DVD players. One high-end Sony, one low-end Sanyo and one that is region-free and will play ANYTHING. No go on all of them. Like I said, the '02 disc was perfect from the start. Just '04. I know some DVD-R's suffer degradation if the burn was done too fast...if there are multiple unordered discs he has on hand, it could simply be an issue with aging....but again, that still doesn't rectify the situation.

    My biggest gripe isn't the fact I'm having an issue, it's that I'm not getting a response to it. And that's not a knock at Josh (I know he's got alot on his plate), but if he doesn't have the time/resources to truly help every "customer" with an issue like this, then the discs shouldn't be for sale. Wouldn't you be a little irriatated if you purchased a DVD at a retail store and after replacing your original with another defective one, they just said "tough luck"?

    I would gladly send the two '04 discs I have back to him, or accept a refund, or whatever hoops I have to jump through to get a working disc in my hand. But the silence is truly deafening at this point.
