Remember "the Big Bird Celebrity Roast?"

I recall a show that was taped in '82 or '83 that was about celebrities,and one of the funniest items in YCDTOTV history was at Barth's Burgery when Lisa always wanted to see Big Bird from "Sesame Street," and she wished she would honor him with the "Big Bird Celebrity Roast." The skit ended with good ol' Barth had a large roasted bird,and he called it "THE BIG BIRD CELEBRITY ROAST!" And I recall the kids were crying at the burgery! Cool! Everyone should enjoy that (except Children's Television Workshop,the people who brought us Sesame Street-maybe Barth should be Oscar the Grouch's personal chef! And Barth will always say,"D'I heard that!" We know,we know...)!

The episode was Popularity from 1982 and that was one of the classic scenes of the series. It was also featured in the "Worst of..." production.

I always sort of wondered how much time and money it cost to make up that Big Bird. I can't imagine they had that particular prop lying around in the back hallways of CJOH.
