The schedule isn't accurate. I noticed it says Salute Your Shorts for 8:30pm after Clarissa. It should be Roundhouse; SYS was never on Snick.

Nice try with the schedule, Nick, but thanks for the DVDs!

Does anyone know how the sales have been for the Rewind Collection? I know Pete & Pete has been logging good sales ranks on Amazon - but I'm curious what the total sales have been?

Also, does anyone have any idea when Nick will announce the next entries in the Rewind collection?

After a few days of searching on the Internet, I have put together an accurate 1993 Nickelodeon schedule. The one Nick included with their "Pete & Pete" DVD is from the fall season, and obviously includes several aforementioned mistakes (like "Salute Your Shorts" in SNICK). Below is their actual programming schedule, circa July of 1993.

Notice programs like "Pete & Pete," "Rocko's Modern Life" and "Legends of the Hidden Temple" are not present, as they hadn't premiered yet. However, all shows missing on Nick's DVD insert are listed, including YCDTOTV.

Oh man, those were really the good days when, all week, I looked forward to YCDTOTV coming on for an hour on Saturday morning (like how people used to watch cartoons on Sat morning) and then two more episodes later in the weekend. I LOVED that.

What a schedule Nick had back then. Come on, Nick! Bring on those DVDs, PLEASE!

It seems like it was on after school daily in the 80's, possibly 4 PM. Anyone remember?

It was on Monday through Friday at 4:00 PM and again at 7:00 PM. The same episode would be shown both times.

As JBY529 pointed out near the start of this thread, children's programming is different than adult - the audience turns over completly every ten years or so. This has implications for reruns of any of Nick's old shows - those who watched the shows then are no longer part of Nick's target audience; those viewers Nick is after now never saw the shows in the first place. Hence, bringing back the occasional episode of an old Nick show makes no sense from their viewpoint.

Hypothetically, they could have kept some of their shows in continoual reruns, attracting new fans as the original fans outgrew the network. But this would require that the show keep sufficient viewership to make this worthwhile . It wouldn't have to draw the same as a newer show, because of the lower cost associated with airing reruns, as opposed to show production, but it would have to draw. Additionally, this would require enough episodes to avoid frequent repitition of shows - shows which ran for 3 or 4 years, like many Nick shows, wouldn't work.

Potentially an old show could be reintroduced, in hopes of drawing a new audience - of all Nick shows, YCDTOTV might be the best candidate for this, because of the number of shows made. But like most new shows, it would have to air long enough to attract this audience. - a risk Nick isn't about to take.

It's not a matter of Nick having "lost" all there old shows. With the exception of much of the 80s stuff, which they didn't own anyway, they could rerun any of their shows. It just wouldn't pay to.
