Default Did YCDTOTV ever use "green-screens"?

Did YCDTOTV ever use "green-screens" in any of their sketches? By that i mean where the background is simply a green screen, and the footage is added in during post-production. I know the school bus and car scenes used this method, and i think the beach scenes were also green-screened, any other times?

I think "Outdoors" used that setup for the link sketches that were supposedly being held in the woods, as were the scenes in "Animals" supposed to be out in the jungle.

I'm sure there would be others where certain scenarios were done for a particular episode.

Green screen was used several times through the years. The Fairy Tales ep is another that comes to mind.

Default The biggest green screen in Canada?

Didn't the CJOH studios at one time have one of the biggest green screens in all of Canada?

Also was used in Losing Things - I think it was the final skit where the Genie of the Lost Sock makes the Preverts' house disappear, leaving only the doorstep, an empty lot where the house used to be, and other houses in the distance.
Lisa: "Dad, my friends at school say you have no savoir faire"

Senator Prevert: "Subway fare?? Why would I need subway fare?? There are no subways in this city!"

I'm sure the bus rides used plenty of green screen.

Yes. Studio A (they shot most of the show in Studio D) at CJOH contains one of the largest and one of the first hard cyclorama screens in Canada. According to Geoff Darby, it was something like CYC Screen #5 (exaggerating slightly). It's two stories tall, white, and made of wood. Their lighting grid allowed them to illuminate it any color they wished, and they frequently used blue to pull off the large chroma key effects. The bus was in two halves (length-wise), and they would roll it into Studio A for shooting. As others have stated, it's where they pulled off the car, jungle, and other related scenes.

There is a picture in the Photo gallery under misellaneous photos showing the hard cyc in Studio A. Picture doesn't do it justice though as it is bigger when your standing there.

In one of the earliest episodes (Transportation), they used green-screen effects several times. As part of the running gag through the episode, every time Ross would say something like "let's get this show rolling/in the cat/etc.), Moose would sufer the consequences of what he had just said.

I taught of the same thing for the bus rides and also the green screen might be used also in the 1982 episode "Vacations" when Moose relaxed at some beach in a Caribean Island
