Why did the characters hate being slimed?

On ycdtotv the characters always acted like being slimed was the worst thing that could ever happen to you.
Why do you think they hated it so much? Just becuase it was messy or gross? or a Humiliating thing to have happen to you on tv?

On ycdtotv the characters always acted like being slimed was the worst thing that could ever happen to you.

All part of the show. The idea was that the mean, evil adults will do whatever it takes to abuse, humiliate or otherwise take advantage of kids. Green slime was one more example of the horrible things adults could do.

So this makes me wonder why: did we kids enjoyed watching a show about adults humiliating us?

Would we have enjoyed it if our parents had the power to green slime us in real life?
If on a daily basis we had been subgected to them saying:

"You forgot to take out the garbage again! You know what that means!"

And then you have to sit there humiliated as green slime dumps down on you while your brother and sister laugh?
