In the episode where the executioner asks Allister which he is more afraid of "being slimed or being shot?' and he doesn't know-an answer which gets him both slimed and shot-but how is that you wouldn't know the answer to that question?
In the real world anyone would rather get slimed-
-was the intention of the writers to make us think that in the world of ycdtotv almost nothing was worse than getting slimed? That slime was like the worst thing that could happen to you?

Well, I am the writer of that particular sketch - or the original version of it, at any rate - and there's more to the story than what you saw on the screen. "Fears, Worries and Anxieties" originally had two running gags in it. The bit with Vanessa being afraid of the locker monster made it into the final version, but there was another one where Alasdair developed a fear of green slime. The running gag got cut, but a couple of the individual sketches remained, and that was one of them. The only thing is, without the running gag, the individual sketches didn't make quite as much sense.

wow cool-that makes more sense -but it still seems like the kids hate and fear green slime a lot in all the episodes.
For instance-the dungeon sketches-you would think just being locked in a dungeon and subjected to torture/whatnot would be bad enough-but Nasti still threatens the kids with Green Slime when they are chained up-as if it's actually a form of torture like getting boiling oil or the rack or something.
-in any case, as a kid I was afraid of the slime and probably because they always made it seem like such a terrible fate.

Let's just say I am VERY happy that the sketches with the locker monster were kept in the show!

The entire camp-out set was built to do the locker monster gag. After we saw it coming together, we realized it looked so good that we had to do more with it. We threw a bunch of other sketches together in a day or two, and as you saw, it then became one of the regular sets in the show. But none of that would have happened without the locker monster.

And now you know... the rest of the story!
