Okay, I just thought I'd ask this here since my search feature doesn't work.

What was it like working with Doug and Vanessa on the show? I was told that they truly disliked one another in real life. Was the dislike more so like a...."I don't like him/her! If we have a reunion, I'll only come if he/she doesn't come?" or was it more like, "We don't get along, but we don't actually hate each other and wouldn't go out of our ways to avoid each other."

Was it difficult for these two to work together or was this played up just for the show, like Lisa's being talkative or Christine's nickname being used?

Did any of the castmembers ever date one another? Did any of the other castmates truly dislike one another or not get along? Did anyone ever feel any jealousy or envy towards Christine as host?

Any other behind the scenes info about the cast as far as how they get along or don't get along? Also, not sure, but was there something going on with Allisdair in his final season there? Like maybe he didn't want to do the show anymore, that kind of thing.

I checked the archives when I wondered about why Adam Kalbfleisch only appeared one episode of the 1986 season (Country life) and BBOwenGuy mentioned some joeks they made on him http://www.ycdtotv.com/lockerroom/sh...=4907#post4907

Also, it might explain why Martin Kerr left after the 1983 animals episode. I regret then he didn't continued with the 1984 episodes, just imagine what if him and her sister Pauline in one same episode? We got the brothers with Aymas and Matthew Godfrey, the sisters with Jill and Amy Stanley all it missed is brother-sister.

Well, to get the real answers you'd have to ask the people themselves, but I can offer a few observations. Keep in mind, though, that they're ONLY observations.

As I've said elsewhere on this board, the relationship between Doug and Vanessa was more like brother and sister than anything else. They got on each other's nerves, but they also dressed alike and, at one point, had matching rat-tails in their hair. What you saw on the show was an exaggeration, like with Lisa and Christine.

I'm not aware of any cast members ever dating each other. If there were any feuds between kids, they weren't visible to me when I was there. By the time I got there, Christine was so much older than anyone else (except Lisa) that she was almost like another of the adults. (Remember, she's a year older than I am, and I was considered one of the adults on the set.)

The last time I was on the set was when they were doing "Poverty," "Contests" and the other shows in that batch. At that time, Alasdair was very much aware that his time on the show was coming to an end, and he didn't know where he could go from there. His situation made its way into my second book, The Real Life Channel, which is my tribute to the time I worked on YCDTOTV.
