  • "Families" talkback thread

I figured that it might be a good idea to put a thread discussing the currently uploaded episode. So post your reviews, observations, or anything else you found noteworthy about the episode here!

Two first timers in this episode : Jeff Mousseau and Stephanie Chow. One lasted one episode, the other lasted 3 years...it's pretty obvious why!

    Favorite sketches -
    "Family Crest"
"Family TV Opposite" - listening to Jeff lisp 'Silver Spoons' still cracks me up...

I think this was the only episode where "WaWa" triggered water and the only episode where the announcer was doused.

I like the skeleton in my bed scene and the one where Ross twists Jeff's hand.

You think Stephanie Chow was that good?

I thought Stephanie was a refreshing addition to the cast. She wasn't a bad actress, she had that "cute little kid" factor going for her and I think she would have been one of the leaders of the 1989-90 cast had she decided to stick around.

Are you kidding me? I think Stephanie was YCDTOTV's answer to Rudy Huxtable. She had that cute kid charm that I don't think any of the other kids ever had. Amy Stanley also comes to mind but they weren't quite the same as Amy's on-air persona was a bratty little sister and not squeeky clean like Stephanie.

I really liked the play on her last name in this episode, and she did bring a lot of personality to the show.

The part that cracks me up the most in this episode is when Alasdair is at Barth's, accusing him of putting Stephanie Chow in the burgers. Just the way he says, "...THAT'S murder!" is hilarious.

Is it just me, or did anyone else think Jeff looked like he was in pain when he got slimed at the end? I know he was over-acting (just like he did the whole episode), but it looks like getting slimed was the worst thing in the world (which actually, does fit with the 'lore' of the show).

Overacting somehow adds to the show. Only thing I DON'T like is the kids who UNDERacted. Yuck! You should see Natalie from Rules and Regulations.
