    That was...um...random

Don't forget the "ewww ugggghhh" sound too

One other thing with the laugh track that I noticed was that it got "younger" in the later episodes. Listen to an 81 or 82 and then listen to an 86 or 87 and you'll hear what I'm talking about.

I actually did notice that too. Some of the laugh track in the 1986 season is a little annoying. In them, somebody particularly laughs like a retard or something. It sounds like she's shrieking.

Circle Square, which was Toronto-based, used the same EXACT laugh track. I wonder if that was the laugh track making the rounds in Canadian kid shows in the 70's when both of the programs went into production.

I can't remember which episodes these were but it took place at Barths and I remember a part where they used what sounded like a bunch of kids booing at him. Another episode somewhere in the 1989-90 season there was a canned laughter that sounded like kids cheering and clapping. I know both the booing and the cheering was used at least more than once.

You hear the kids booing in The Occult/ESP at Barth when he looked like he was about to kill a rabbit to put in the burgers.

I know there is a 1989-90 episode with the cheering/clapping, but I can't remember which one it was...

                Laugh tracks

There was also an '81 episode - I think it was Safety First - in which the wind blew up Christine's skirt (of course she had on pantyhose underneath) and you can hear catcalls on the laugh track.

I don't think the catcalls were in the laugh track. I think those were real and came from the stagehands... or they were pre-recorded and then dubbed in with the laugh track.
